Traditional Chinese acupuncture
Traditional Chinese acupuncture started around 4000 years ago, based on the laws of vital energy flows (seasonal rhythms) and pulsology (cardiac rhythm).
In the Western world we place great significance on symptoms, whereas for millennia traditional acupuncture has been working on energy flows. Two different methods with different outcomes.
The ancient So Wen script states:
“When energy circulates, it sweeps away illness.”
“When energy is powerful, illness cannot enter.”
The traditional Chinese acupuncturist detects emotional and energy, environmental and dietary imbalances that are the origin of the disorder and attempt to rebalance these elements concentrating on the function of the organs rather than their physical structure.
In this sense, traditional Chinese acupuncture is preventative, with a curative function second.
